Set up Overcast on Apple Watch

1 Sync your Watch

Search for podcasts and create playlists in the iphone app then launch the app on Apple Watch to sync. An arrow icon in the top-left of the main screen lets you sync too.

2 Play a podcast

Any podcasts currently playing on your iphone can be controlled via the Watch. Just tap ‘Now Playing’ in the section On My Phone to use the controls or view episodes.

3 View information

If you want to check what a podcast is about, just scroll down the screen, tap an episode and read the brief description. Audio will be played via your iphone’s speakers.

4 Download to Watch

To ensure there is always something to listen to when you don’t have your iphone to hand, download podcasts to your Watch. Tap the Settings icon and select ‘All Episodes’.

5 Enjoy the episodes

Charge and connect your Watch to Wi-fi to download episodes. The main screen has a new section, On My Watch. All Episodes shows the first 20 episodes in your playlist.

6 Play through the Watch

Individual episodes have an option to download. If you play a downloaded podcast on your Watch, you can choose a pair of headphones through which to listen.
