Overcast’s useful functions on its playback screen

Play and pause

As you’d expect, tapping the large triangular Play button will start a podcast and you’ll then be given an option to pause it, letting you pick up where you left off later.

Back and forward

You can jump forward by 30 seconds and go back by 15 by tapping either of these two icons. The counter at the top-left of the screen will change accordingly.

Increase the volume

Use the Watch’s Digital Crown to increase or decrease the volume. If an iphone icon is shown to the left, this will alter the iphone’s speakers. If a Watch is shown, the volume will affect your connected headphones.

Alter the speed

Tap the ‘…’ menu here and you will be able to adjust the playback speed in small increments. You can go as low as ¾x and as high as 3x using the ‘–’ and ‘+’ buttons.
