Limit app usage

-

When in the office or any workspace it is difficult to have control over how you work and your activities, but this changes when working from home. You naturally have more freedom to work how you want to, which has advantages and disadvantages, but setting some limits can help you to reduce the strain and make your home life a little easier.

1 Simple screen time access

Go to System Preferences on your Mac and click ‘Screen Time’. The feature is also available in Settings on an iphone and ipad to ensure that you cover every device.

2 View your week

Click the date at the top to view your past week of usage. This is particularly useful because you can compare your working days with your weekends. They should differ.

3 Too many interruptions?

The ‘Notifications’ section will show you how often you are interrupted during the day. It is likely that you are interrupted by nonessential apps quite often.

4 Limit app access

The ‘Downtime’ option lets you set periods of time where you will only have access to specified apps. This simple setting can allow you to focus on doing your best

5 Disable some apps

You can disable access to certain apps using ‘App Limits’. This is a very useful way to ensure that distractions are kept to a minimum at all times.

6 Be ultra careful

The ‘Content & Privacy’ section lets you bar certain content which is especially important if you are using personal and work computers on the same network.
