Your new Notification Centre
The IOS 15 update brings a redesigned Notification Centre to your iphone that is easier to digest and can deliver a personalised summary of non-urgent notifications at a time when you are free to process them.
Swipe down
You can access your new-look Notification Centre by swiping down from the top of the screen (but not the right-hand corner, as that launches your Control Centre).
Bigger badges
Your notifications feature enlarged app icons and contact pictures so that you can see more easily, at-a-glance, which apps they apply to and which people have contacted you.
3D Touch
As before, you can long-press on notifications to trigger specific actions for the various apps and tap on the ‘X’ icon in the top-right corner to clear all of your current notifications.
Manage notifications
If you swipe left on a notification you will see two buttons for ‘Options’ and ‘Clear’. Tap ‘Options’ and a pop-up menu will allow you to mute the notification for one hour, or one day, and quickly access the specific Notifications settings page for that app. It’s simple.
Alternative scheduling
If you are unsure of how to add apps to your notification summary after the initial setup process, then you can do it by going to Settings> notifications and tapping on a specific app. You will now see a new set of Notification Delivery options. From here, tap ‘Scheduled Summary’ to add the app.
