Get the look you want
1 Choose a style
Go to Settings>camera>photo Capture>photographic Styles. Swipe to see how the five preset styles alter the sample photo. Tap to select a style for your shots.
2 No RAW
Photographic Styles can only be applied to JPEG files. If you shoot in RAW, you’ll need to tap the Camera app’s RAW icon to turn it off before you can capture a Style.
3 Access Styles
You can choose a different Photographic Style from within the Camera app. Tap the chevron icon or swipe up/left to reveal more tools, including the stack-shaped Styles icon.
4 Choose a style
Tap the Styles icon. You can now swipe to see how each of the styles affects the subject. The Tone and Warmth values change depending on the chosen style.
5 Customise Style
Tap a style’s Tone or Warmth slider. Swipe to change that style’s default values. Here, we’ve set the Vibrant style’s Warmth to -68, creating a new Vibrant Cool preset.
6 Reset preset
To restore a customised style to its preset look, tap the Reset icon to the right of the Warmth slider. Then tap the ‘Reset to Vibrant’ button. The reset button will vanish.
7 Check styles
To see which style has been applied when snapping a shot, go to the Photos app. Tap on ‘i’. The Information pane will display a Style label, such as Vibrant.
8 Filter fun
If you shoot in RAW, you can’t apply a style. However, you can change a RAW shot’s look using filters. In Photos, tap ‘Edit’. Tap the Filters icon. Tap a filter, such as Vivid Warm.
9 Adjust filter
Use a filter’s slider to reduce its intensity. Here, we’ve applied the Vivid Cool filter and swiped to set the slider to a more subtle value of 58. Tap ‘Done’ to finish.
