Cut clips into a flowing action sequence

-

1 Grab a gimbal

To capture our clips we mounted an iphone 13 Pro Max on a Zhyiun Crane M2S gimbal. This gadget helped capture smooth wideangle clips. 2 On the go

Start editing your footage using the IOS version of imovie and then tap ‘Done’. Tap Share>options and choose ‘Project’. Tap Done>share to Airdrop it to your Mac. 3 Import project

In macos imovie choose File>import imovie IOS Projects. Go to .imoviemobile in Downloads. Click ‘Import’ to access the source clips and edited timeline’s contents. 4 Import clips

We’ve provided this project’s clips for you to download to your Mac. Create a new imovie project then select and import our seven supplied outdoor action clips. 5 Add to timeline

Click and drag to select all of the clips in the bin. Press W to add them to the timeline in the order they were created. Play the sequence. It needs trimming to flow better. 6 Continuity of movement

Trim a second from the start of Shot02 so the camera cranes up at the end of Shot01 and continues to rise at the start of Shot02. Reduce the wind-blown volume of all clips. 7 Cut on move

Trim the end of Shot04 so the boy is in mid jump. Trim the start of Shot05 so he’s in the same position from a different angle. The action now flows better. 8 Grade it

Click on a clip. Click the Clip Filter icon above the viewer. Click on ‘Clip Filter: None’ for the filter panel. Click to apply Blast to the clip. Repeat the process for the other shots. 9 Add music

Go to Audio>sound Effects and the Jingles folder. Click ‘Time’ to group tracks by duration. Galleria Long is a similar time to the sequence. Reduce its volume to 50%.
