As an exciting new addition to Garageband IOS version 2.3, the Beat Sequencer provides a really intuitive way to ‘build’ percussion. Found under Drums within Sound browser, it takes inspiration from classic drum machines to deliver pre-designed and custom drum patterns of all tempos or styles.

Essentially a grid, with rows and columns signifying kit pieces and beats respectively, Beat Sequencer contains ‘steps’ you toggle on or off. These selections form ‘patterns’ that can not only be formed from scratch but also loaded in from an expanding collection of presets. Kits can be swapped between electronic and acoustic sets, while a host of great options can be applied to vary performance before hitting record.
