The development of IOS 12 brought many changes to the system and to apps, with the old Messages app receiving a few welcome tweaks. For example, there are live photo effects like filters that can be applied before taking a photo. You can also activate the camera from within the Messages app to take a photo and browse the photo filters before taking the shot. You can select Animoji characters and apply the live filter effects to them, and text shapes and stickers can now be added to the camera image. You can even create your own custom messages. Tap the ‘camera’ icon from within the Messages app, then tap the ‘effects’ button to begin exploring the new features.
