Use live effects when sending Messages photos

Use Animojis

Animojis replace your head with an animal cartoon head, which is great fun. Experiment with different Animojis using the live camera effects before you take the photo. There are four new ones to try.

Use filters

There is no need to take a photo and then apply filters, because they can be applied before photos are taken. Press the filters button and browse the special effects applied to the live camera image.

Special effects

Tap this button to display the toolbar below the camera image. It enables effects to be applied before you take the photo, like animoji, filters and stickers. Look for it when taking photos in Messages.

Add text

Text can be added to images, and there is a choice of plain text or stickers – shapes like speech bubbles, hearts and so on. Press the button and select the type of text that you want to add.
