Can’t activate Contacts Only or Everyone?

If this is happening it means your device’s privacy settings are disallowing Airdrop functionality. Go to Settings>screen Time>content & Privacy Restrictions and tap ‘Allowed Apps’. Ensure the slider next to Airdrop is green (this only applies if Content & Privacy Restrictions are turned on).
