Configure Screen Time options and settings
View your activities
Turn on Screen Time by going to Settings> Screen Time. Use your iphone normally for at least a few hours and then return here to see how your time was spent by category.
See activity history
Tap the bar to view the history and select ‘Today’ or ‘Last 7 Days’ at the top. Drag a finger over the days to view the time spent on your phone. The weekly total is below.
Filter by device
If you have an iphone and an ipad and Screen Time is enabled on both, tap ‘Devices’ at the top and select the device activity to view. ipad usage may be different to iphone.
View your activities
Swipe up the screen and there is a section that can be switched between showing categories of activity and apps and websites. Tap the link to see apps or activity times.
See more detail
Show the activity categories and then tap a category to see a breakdown of the time spent in that activity and a list of the apps used. Tap an app to see more information.
Pickups and notifications
Back at the history screen, swipe up to see Pickups and Notifications. You can now see how many times you pick up your iphone.
Always allow apps
Go to Settings>screen Time>always Allowed. Screen Time prevents excessive use by blocking access. Add apps to ‘Allowed Apps’ to prevent them being blocked.
Set app limits
Go to Settings>screen Time>app Limits and then tap ‘Add Limit’. Select activities you would like to place limits on, like social networking or games, and then tap ‘Add’.
Set daily limits
On the next screen, set the number of hours a day that activity is allowed. Press ‘Customise Days’ to set different daily limits, such as more fun activities at the weekend.
