Your ebook reading tools

A number of tools and options are available when reading ebooks on the iphone or ipad. Tap the screen to access controls that enable you to quickly jump forward and back through the pages and press the ‘aa’ button that appears at the top to customise the display. As can be seen in the main image, there are controls for selecting the background colour, font selection and page or scrolling view. Here are some more hidden features.

1 Show the toolbar

Long-press a word to show the toolbar. Use the handles to select the text and copy, share, highlight or save it. Tap ‘bookmark’ icon at the top to remember this location.

2 Highlights and notes

Tap ‘Highlight’ to show this toolbar. Tap the circles to select the highlight colour and tap the third icon to save this selection. Tap the three bars at the top to view notes.
