Set low and high heart rates
1 Launch Watch app
The settings for your heart rate are within the Watch app on your iphone. Open this app and tap the ‘My Watch’ tab at the bottom of the screen. Then scroll and tap ‘Heart Rate’.
2 Check your rates
By default, the Apple Watch sets a high heart rate of 120bpm and a low heart rate of 40bpm. Alerts occur when the rate goes above or below these rates.
3 Change high rate
If you feel the high heart rate is set too high or too low, tap ‘High Heart Rate’ and choose a different rate, then tap ‘Heart’ to go back. You can also turn the function off.
4 Alter low rate
Likewise, if you feel the low heart rate should be set higher or lower, tap ‘Low Heart Rate’ and select another bpm. You must suffer a low rate for ten minutes to be alerted.
5 Notification method
After tapping ‘Heart’ to go back and select the ‘Notification Grouping’ option. This allows you to select how you want your heartrelated notifications to appear.
6 Confirm changes
Tap ‘Heart’ to go back to the main Heart Rate screen in the My Watch app and doublecheck that you are happy. If everything is in order tap ‘My Watch’.
