Wireless over-ear headphones are a flooded market, with exceptional high-end models and more affordable variants available but, with kudos to Kitsound, the District Bluetooth Headphones are the first set we have encountered with Qi charging. Simply plug in the supplied wireless charging base unit, fold the cans into position and place the right cup on the pad and the magic happens – it’s a very nice touch.
When fully charged, the District Bluetooth Headphones provide up to 20 hours of play time, a phenomenal duration that makes them ideal for long commutes and winter walks. Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) keeps out any unwanted outside sounds and keeps you encapsulated in your own blissful world of isolation, although if any calls come in on your iphone then you can answer them directly thanks to a built-in mic. Simply tap the multi-function button and your music is banished in an instant to take the call. Other controls built into the casing allow you to skip tracks, adjust the volume and turn ANC off to conserve power.
With Bluetooth 4.2, these headphones operate at a range of up to ten metres and the 40mm drivers provide a wide range of tones, capturing every intricate detail of your music. They’re also very comfortable to wear thanks to the circumaural earcups and soft fabric headband. There is very little not to like here.
A great-sounding set of Bluetooth headphones that provide nearly a full day of playback on a full charge. The wireless Qi charging facility is the cherry on top of an already highly enticing cake!
Controls on the right cup let you adjust the volume, skip tracks, take calls and enable/disable Active Noise Cancelling
The cups of the District headphones fold up into the headband for easy stowing when not in use
A charging coil within the right cup means that the District headphones can be charged wirelessly
