Adjusting your project length

iCreate - - GARAGE BAND -

The length of a project is of course variable and will most likely change during the course of developing a song, but it’s not always immediately obvious to beginners as to how this is altered. This is because the ‘end point’ can be tough to distinguish until it is exceeded, with the marker draggable along the Tracks ruler. Any bars after this point won’t play, but it will move to accommodate recordings. Here we’ll examine how to use the end-of-project marker accordingly.

1 Marker drag

Projects start as 32 bars long. Drag the arrow horizontally along the ruler and you’ll notice a pop-up indicator appears under the cursor denoting the start/end points.

2 Stopping short

Anything within the start and end points is your song, so playback or song export will cease at the marker. However, tracks or project bars can exist beyond this point.
