Somewhere for the weekend… LONGLEAT A unique West Country retreat
Enjoy an adventurous homestay on the historic estate, at Wiltshire’s famous Safari Park
Renowned for its rich 440-year history, as well as its Safari Park opened in 1966 by the Sixth Marquess of Bath, Longleat has undergone a number of changes over the years.
The most recent is the addition of six individually designed retreats, housed within historic properties on the 9,000-acre estate, including the former Deer Keeper’s house and the Gardener’s Cottage.
Each of the retreats varies in size, and was created by Fusion by Design. Although different, each has parquet floors, period-style bathrooms, Shaker-style kitchens and a country-meets-colonial theme, and fabulous views. These range from the house itself to the reserve; you can even wake up to watch giraffes from your window.
Access to Longleat Estate and Park is included in your stay. Go on a jungle cruise to spot hippos or lowland gorillas, do a safari to check out the Big Five or head to Jungle Kingdom to meet meerkats, anteaters and aardvarks. There’s a family farmyard, a huge hedge maze, plus optional VIP tours.
