THE SOLUTION
‘A few months after we moved in, our friend, who is a fantastic plumber, helped us to move the pipes as we changed the bathroom layout. There was also some boxing in to do.
‘I spent hours sourcing second-hand items and offcuts – if you have time and patience, good online research can save you a fortune. We had a twomonth delay on the taps but I believe good things are worth waiting for!
‘We sacrificed having a shower, but we have a lovely shower room on the top floor. Installation and plastering cost £1,700 – we saved around £1,000 by gutting the old bathroom, painting and also tiling the mosaic wall ourselves.
‘I was so excited when our new bathroom got shortlisted for the Ideal Home Reader Awards. I’d love to think that our design may inspire others.’
“Our bathroom reflects our love and appreciation of luxury design and modern glamour. We always wanted a hotel-like feel in the bathroom, and now staying at home feels like we’ve already checked in! ANNA URBAN, HOMEOWNER
