‘Green is our accent colour’

‘We bought this bookcase at a flea market and painted it. As soon as I saw this sage green colour, I knew it would be perfect. It’s the ideal colour to contrast with the white walls and floor, but still fits in with the natural look. Most of our furniture comes from the local monthly flea markets in Richelieu, Chinon and Montsoreau that we visit regularly. The markets are amazingly colourful and charming, full of amazing finds and stretching all along the banks of the River Loire. We’ve picked up so many great one-off pieces here, while stocking up on local French foodie delicacies too, especially at Christmas time.’
