‘Our main priorities for the kitchen were a central island to make it sociable, no wall units to keep things simple and enough space for cooking with others. We chose black units to echo the living room’s feature wall and to pop against the sage green shade in the kitchen; it also really works with wood and white. The retro kitchen scales were from a village garage sale.’
