Ideal Home (UK)

The bathroom was small, and decrepit, in the wrong place

-

THE SOLUTION

‘This house hadn’t been updated in decades, and the existing bathroom wasn’t suitable, but we felt that the old-fashioned kitchenette would make an ideal family bathroom. I planned to reflect the period vibe in the house, but I’m a bit of a style magpie and I wanted vibrant jewel tones and a mix of old and new, with plenty of texture and interest. Top priority was a big, beautiful, copper bath, which fitted perfectly in the bay window. This was our first renovation project (@love_littlecote) and it proved more challenging than we’d expected. We had to fit new plumbing and ventilation, and level the wonky floor but fortunately our fabulous contractors, Armstrong Installations, were up to the job. Installation came to about £3,000 and took three weeks.
