The layout
‘The original downstairs layout of the Victorian cottage had lots of little rooms with a series of extensions added over the years. Upstairs were four bedrooms and a bathroom with no window. We relocated the stairs to open up the downstairs space and added an angular extension at the back that improved the flow of light and space, with large windows overlooking the garden. The front of the house remained vitually unchanged.’
