THE SOLUTION

‘When we embarked on converting this former chicken shed, we had in mind that we would work with the exposed steels and columns to create an industrial, contempora­ry look, but when it came to decorating this bathroom

I wanted it to be a softer, more embracing space.

Top of my wish list was a freestandi­ng bath, so I designed the layout around that. As it was a tight space of 2.6x2.1 metres, it made sense to have the bath at the far end, creating a focal point. I chose the pink tiles from day one and built the scheme around those. The bathroom was installed by John from John Thompson Plumbing, and the tiling was by Ryan and Ian from R I Tiling Specialist­s (@r.i_tiling_specialist­s). The installati­on was part of an eight month renovation project and the bathroom took around a month to fit.’
