Q Sort your cleaning cupboard

-

Whether you keep your cleaning kit under the kitchen sink or in a cupboard elsewhere in your home, a simple clear out and reshuffle of the contents can help you find what you need, quickly and easily – a must when dealing with spills and stains. First, take everything out and clean the cupboard cavity. If you lack shelving, invest in a few shelf risers (try Ikea or Lakeland) to double your storage space. Next, audit your cleaning products. Be ruthless – all you really need is a multipurpose cleaning spray and a glass cleaner (invest in eco refillable products), limescale remover, some bleach and disinfectant. As for cleaning kit, stock up on a selection of cloths, both basic and microfibre, rubber gloves and a duster. Old toothbrushes will come in handy too for any detailed cleaning. Only have one space to store cleaning products? Keep everything in separate cleaning caddies that you can grab out of the cupboard and bring to whatever room you are cleaning. It’s also worth stocking up on extras for specific spruce-ups like stain removers, furniture polish and oven cleaner so that they’re there for you when you need them. Keep any half empty bottles of cleaner that you have at the front so they’re used first.
