THE LOWDOWN

-

WORST PART

Going through planning was more straightforward than I thought it would be, but we did have a five-month delay as we were told there might be bats on the site, which are a protected species. We had to wait until May to do the survey but luckily it came back that there was nothing to worry about.

BEST DECISION

Finding and using a Passivhaus consultant, who worked alongside our architect Jonathan to create a house that would stay cool at the height of summer and warm in the winter.

FAVOURITE SPACE

The separate grown-up sitting room is the best place for relaxing in. And I love the fact it’s separate from the children’s playroom. I mainly use it in the evenings when the children are in bed.
