Always check the following before you start work on a rendering job

■ Planning permission isn’t necessary, unless you live in a conservation area or an AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty).

■ Building regs might apply if you are re-rendering, so check with your local planning department.

Your render may need to be a specific RAL or British Standard (BS) colour if your property is listed. Check your deeds and paperwork carefully before you start.
