Q How to fix a blocked drain, naturally

While there are plenty of drain unblockers available in the shops, they can be costly and often use harsh and damaging chemicals. If you’d prefer to have a go using a more-natural solution to unblock and freshen up your kitchen sink, why not try our traditional suggestion:

Pour 2 cups of white vinegar, 1 tablespoon of washing-up liquid and cup of bicarbonate of soda (baking powder) down your plughole and listen to it start to fizz up. Cover the plughole with a damp cloth or tea towel and leave it for 10 to 15 minutes. When the time is up, pour a full kettle of boiling water down the sink to clear it of any blockages.
