An exciting project reveal...

There really is nothing more satisfying than finishing a project you’ve worked hard on, and then having the opportunity to show it off! Which is why I’m absolutely thrilled to unveil the new-look Idealhome website (idealhome.co.uk – bookmark it right now!), which the brilliant IH team has been busy transforming behind the scenes and is now live.

As the home of great ideas for more than 100 years ( Idealhome launched back in 1920), we’re all about making home design accessible to everyone, and sharing our passion for all things home. Both here in print and on our website, we share the very best real homes, project case studies and advice to inspire you, along with original and timeless decorating and styling ideas, product news, appliance buyer’s guides and housekeeping tips. We’re your one-stop shop for everything you could possibly need to create (and maintain!) a home you love.

The start date for our kitchen extension project has been put back to the end of the summer (no big surprise there – I’m learning a lot about patience when it comes to a big project already!), but I’m looking at the positives. Firstly, we get to enjoy the garden over the summer, before it becomes a building site. And secondly, I have extra planning time (I’ll be browsing IH’S ideas and advice), which can only be a good thing!

This issue is full of inspiration. I need to give our outdoor space a spruce up, and the easy projects in our Garden Updates feature on page 74 have got my creative juices flowing! The ultimate dream is an outdoor kitchen (see page 86) but I think that will have to wait for next year!
