Man to go on trial accused of sexually assaulting two females

A County Fermanagh man has been returned for trial in relation to alleged sexual offences against two females.

Appearing for a committal hearing was Niall James Cadden (27) from Derrygoas Road, Newtownbutler who faces four charges in total, of which three relate to one complainant and the remaining single count is against the other.

In order of alleged occurrence, Cadden is accused of sexually assaulting one female on a date in December, 2018. It is further alleged in August 2020 he twice sexually assaulted the other complainant and caused her to engage in sexual activity. No details surrounding the circumstances of the charges were disclosed during the short hearing.

A prosecuting lawyer told Omagh Magistrates Court there is a case to answer which was agreed by District Judge Oonagh Mullan.

Cadden did not object to the proceedings and declined to call witnesses or give evidence on his own behalf at this stage.judge Mullan remanded him on bail to appear at Dungannon Crown Court on September 20.
