Live music and laughs at the Ardhowen

MUSIC in Fermanagh is delighted to present the acclaimed internatio­nal pianist John O’conor for an all-beethoven concert at the Ardhowen Theatre on Thursday, September 1 at 8pm.

Prize at the Internatio­nal Beethoven Piano Competitio­n in Vienna in 1973 opened the door to a career that has brought him all around the world.

The evening’s repertoire will include Beethoven’s Sonata No. 2 in C sharp minor ‘Moonlight’; Sonata No. 8 in C minor ‘Pathetique’ and Sonata No. 23 in F minor ‘Appassiona­ta’.

This concert will be an outstandin­g performanc­e and a major event in Fermanagh’s musical calendar.

To comedy now, and fresh from his record-breaking five night sold-out run at the SSE Arena, award-winning comedy writer and stand-up comedian Paddy Raff is coming to the Ardhowen with his brand-new show ‘Look Who’s Raffing’ on Thursday, September 8 at 8pm.

It will feature his own brand of musical and observatio­nal comedy for a night full of laughter with a guest appearance from his infamous alter ego, ‘Nigel’.

Since beginning his stand-up career in 2018, Paddy has become one of the biggest-selling comedians in Ireland. His smash-hit stand-up show, ‘Me,

Myself & Nigel’, sold out a record five nights at the SSE Arena and the second series of his BBC NI sketch show was a ratings hit. ‘Look Who’s Raffing’ is a show not to be missed!

Back to music, and at 8pm next Friday, September 9, the award-winning Celtic Soul return to the Ardhowen with their definitive tribute to Van Morrison.

With years of playing in

Blues, Folk, Trad and Jazz bands, the seven-piece band have the ingredient­s to deliver Van’s music authentica­lly. Expect to hear songs from right across Van’s musical history, including the big hits as well as stand-out album tracks, from a band that’s been lauded by a range of critics and reviewers for their superb renditions of Van’s hits.
