Kevin takes first place with a super 55 nett

-

KEVIN Mcgarry came first in the Clogher Valley Credit Union last weekend with a super score of 55 nett.

A difficult start with a 7 at the first was soon rectified with birdies at the third, fifth and sixth, and pars at eight and nine.

A steady Back 9 of 42, where he scored on every hole, meant he had three shots to spare over Pat Donnelly in second place, who himself had birdies on the fifth and difficult 11th.

Brendan Mccusker on 59 got third on countback. Paul Colgan took the Gross prize with a score of 74 nett.

Mervyn Mcelwaine won the Front 9 and newcomer Tom Mcgeehan won the Back 9. Maurice Coulter got Nearest The Pin.

In the Ladies section, Linda Armstrong finally made the top step of the podium with 71 nett after a couple of second places in recent weeks.

Barbara Kingston was a shot further back in second and Gillian Chartres got Nearest The Pin.
