Martina enjoys a successful week

ANOTHER month has gone by and with brightness fading earlier, the end of season is drawing close.

This week’s stars on the fairways were, first, Martina Gorby, and congratulations to Martina for the second time this week.

She secured a second place in the Irish Golfer competition on Friday in the PGA National Slieve Russell. Well done, Martina!

Karen Bull was second in the weekly competition, and Paula O’hara – returning from a few weeks’ enforced vacation – was third; welcome back, Paula.

Glad to see Ann Montieth from a distance on the fairways last Saturday, also following an absence.

Next week, it’s the playoff for the SAQ and all qualifiers must play in the Saturday draw; good luck to all.

Congratulations are also in order to Charlie Smyth, who was selected to represent Ireland on a six-man side for the Italian U-16 Boys’ Open.
