Quartet help Ulster to President’s Cup

FOUR sailors and the support crew from Lough Erne Yacht Club Sailability, went up to Carrickfergus to compete in the President’s Cup and the Hansa Irish Nationals 2022.

Sailing as part of the Ulster Team, a mother and daughter – Brenda and Lisa Whitley – teamed up with a mother and son – Michelle and Adam Greene – and gained valuable points for Ulster, who won the cup.

Adam and Brenda excelled themselves by coming second in the Hansa Irish Nationals.

Having received her gold and silver medals, Brenda said: “If you told me four years ago that at over 80 years of age, I would be coming second in an Irish National sailing event. I would have said, ‘Catch yourself on’!”
