Enniskillen aiming for a fourth success Reserve A title

-

THE Reserve A and B finals are scheduled to take place this Saturday evening at Brewster Park.

The ‘A’ final will get underway at 7pm with Kinawley taking on Enniskillen with the ‘B’ decider between Devenish and Irvinestown the curtain-raiser for that game with a 5pm throw in.

Enniskillen have been the dominant side in recent years in the Reserve Championship and are going for four in a row on Saturday night when they take on the Brian Borus.

They had to show plenty of battling qualities to overcome Derrygonnelly in the semi-final last Sunday. They rallied from three points down late on to force the game into extra time and even then they were moments away from an exit before a dramatic conclusion.

With Derrygonnelly one point to the good, Enniskillen had a late free with Ross Bogue’s effort coming off the frame of the goal and hitting Conall Quinn on the arm before going over the line with the last action of the contest to seal a two point win.

Kinawley sealed their place in the decider with a four point victory over Roslea in the other semi-final.

The Brian Borus had a tight encounter against Roslea but goals were key as they emerged victorious from that tie.

Shaun Doherty was the hero of the day for the Borus as he landed 2-06 of his side’s 2-10 tally to take them to the win.

A tight encounter lies in store in the final.

Prior to that will be the Reserve B final as Devenish take on Irvinestown.

Jamie Flanagan and John O’flanagan were key men for Devenish as they overcame Aghadrumsee in their semi-final, the Garrison men having two points to spare at the finish.

And Irvinestown defeated Belcoo 1-14 to 2-06 to start what was to be a good weekend for the St. Molaise as they went on to add to the Division Two title on Sunday.
