Air Ambulance tasked as man falls off boat
THE Impartial Reporter understands the Air Ambulance was tasked to a boating incident at Lough Erne last Friday where a man entered the water at Devenish Island.
The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) received a 999 call at 3.15pm on Friday, September 16.
A NIAS spokesperson said: “NIAS despatched an emergency crew, an ambulance officer and also tasked the Charity Air Ambulance with HEMS crew on board to the incident.”
Eyewitnesses from Devenish Island reported how a man fell off a boat that was coming in to moor at the jetty on the island.
The male was pulled from the water and had a cut to his head, said crew on the M.V. Kestrel, which had just dropped off a group of tourists to the island.
CPR and first aid was administered until the arrival of the emergency services, who treated the male at the scene before he was transferred to hospital.
