World Suicide Prevention Day 2022: Creating hope through visible action
TO promote Suicide Awareness and Support World Suicide Prevention Day 2022 – The FIND Centre, Enniskillen hosted a ‘HOPE Showcase’ which consisted of projects carried out by young people who attend the Centre.
“By creating hope through action, we can signal to people experiencing suicidal thoughts that there is hope and that we care and want to support them. It also suggests that our actions, no matter how big or small, may provide hope to those who are struggling.” (WSPD 22)
This HOPE Project (supported by The Public Health Agency) consisted of young people attending the FIND Centre and led by the
FIND Centre Youth Forum. The Project started in February of this year and consisted of four elements.
Many discussions took place between the young people on how best they could design, develop and present ideas, information and suicide awareness to their peers in Fermanagh.
