Aqua Legends programme to commence this month for older citizens
FERMANAGH and Omagh District Council, in partnership with the Public Health Agency (PHA), has organised an Aqua Legends programme commencing later this month at Fermanagh Lakeland
Forum, Enniskillen and Omagh Leisure Complex.
The programme, which is funded by the PHA as part of its Healthy Towns West programme, under ‘A Fitter Future for All Framework’, consists of swim-based activities for those aged 60 years and over and will be facilitated by suitably qualified instructors.
The Aqua Legends programme will commence next Thursday, September 29, in Fermanagh Lakeland Forum at 12.30pm, and at Omagh Leisure Complex at 2pm; each session will last 40 minutes, with participants required to arrive pool-ready for the programme.
Speaking about the programme, the Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Barry Mcelduff, said: “Two key outcomes of the Fermanagh and Omagh 2030 Community Plan are to improve the wellbeing of all the people of the district and to help older people lead more independent and engaged lives. The Aqua Legends programme embraces both outcomes.”
