Fermanagh man Gary ‘honoured’ to act as Master of Ceremonies for the Accession Proclamation in Omagh

-

FERMANAGH man Gary Wilson was “honoured” to be invited to act as Master of Ceremonies for the ancient ritual of the Accession Proclamation of King Charles III on Sunday, September 10 in Omagh town centre. Gary said: “It is an experience I will never forget, and it was a distinct honour to be take part.”

Despite the very inclement weather, a very large crowd of all ages assembled at Omagh Courthouse to witness the historic event. Gary introduced the ceremony and the Lord Lieutenant of County Tyrone, Robert Lowry Scott, who gave a short tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II before inviting the High Sheriff, Mrs. Emer

Murnaghan, to read the proclamation.

This was followed by a rousing rendition of God Save The King.

Gary then called for three cheers for King Charles III, before dismissing the assembled gathering and escorting the VIP party to the County Club for refreshments.
