Harps move a step closer to league final
Derrygonnelly kept themselves in with a shot of reaching the Ladies Senior Division One League Final as they overcame Tempo in the first play-off game.
With the Harps, Tempo and Newtownbutler finishing on the same points in the league a three way play-off will decide who meets Kinawley in the final.
Eimear Smyth opened the scoring for
Derrygonnelly from their first attack but Bláithín
Bogue responded for Tempo.
The Harps would begin to take control of the game with Smyth firing over a couple of points as did Kiera Elliott.
Bogue was the sole Tempo scorer in this period, hitting two points.
A Rebecca Wallace pass to Smyth ended up in the forward finding the back of the net as things looked ominous for Tempo.
With 25 minutes played, Bogue found the net herself but with the Harps ending the half strongly with a series of scores they led 1-12 to 1-03.
Tempo were back in the game within five minutes of the restart as Bogue again found the target with 1-02 to cut the gap to four points.
But Derrygonnelly were able to respond as the prolific Smyth got on the scoresheet once again from a free.
Bronagh and Niamh Smyth also registered scores for the Harps alongside Sarah Jane Jones while Bogue and Dee Curran knocked over points for Tempo as Derrygonnelly ran out six points winners.
Next up for Derrygonnelly is the game against Newtown for a place in the league final against Kinawley.
