Belcoo v Devenish the big clash in Junior Championship last eight

-

The quarter finals of the Ladies Junior Championship will take place on Sunday and the big clash will see neighbours Belcoo and Devenish meet in Derrygonnelly as the curtain raiser to the Men’s IFC encounter between the same two sides.

Whoever comes through this tie will fancy their chances of going all the way in the competition and has the makings of a tight contest.

Belcoo made the Division Two final in the ladies only to lose to Aghadrumsee in the final. They will look to the likes of Leona Mcnulty, Michelle Cullen and county player Elaine Maguire.

Devenish have experience in their ranks in the shape of Aisling O’brien, Shauna Hamilton and Aisling Maguire while young players such as Hannah Murphy and Ellen O’flanagan have also impressed and they will be looking big performances from all these if they are to progress.

The winner of this game will meet the winner of the Ederney v Irvinestown tie in the semi-final.

Ederney came through the preliminary round with a comprehensive 8-10 to 2-10 win over St. Pat’s and they will look to Sarah Britton, Katie Teague and Ellie Carrigan to drive them on.

In the other half of the draw, Lisnaskea will be fancied to get over Maguiresbridge in the quarter-final. The Emmetts have already qualified for the Division Three final and they will be hoping that Sharon Murphy, Cliodhna Mcelroy and Aine Martin can help them secure their place in the last four.

The meeting of Knockninny and Belnaleck also has the look of a close contest.

Knockninny are a very youthful side but they have quality in their ranks and will be looking to Katie Shannon, Niamh Boyle and Alannah Maguire.

Belnaleck will be hoping for big performances from the likes of Shanna Cassidy, Aisling Keenan, Caoimhe Gallagher and Elle Cartin Mccloskey.
