We will challenge any Sinn Fein attempts to justify or normalise violence in the past
since or recollections of their late fathers or brothers.
Having compiled and edited the contributions, I now have a book almost complete. It will be published later in the autumn.
Although the focus of the work is the group of ‘First Years’ from 1957, there are several references to other students who were then in the school or arrived in the years soon afterwards.
There are also many photographs. Among those are group photos taken by a professional photographer some time in the 1957/58 year.
I have copies of the two First Year groups, the Second Year boys and the Senior 2/3 students.
I am hoping that someone who has a copy of the Third Years or Fourth Years (Senior 1) will read this and be good enough to share [their photo(s)] with me for publication.
I do have a photograph of a Senior 1 class, with their Science teacher, Tim Kinneally, taken about the same time but some from the year are missing.
Someone might also provide me with information about four people from my year whom I have been unable to find – Jim Smith and Tony ‘Kipper’ Campbell, from Enniskillen; ‘Mo’ Donnelly and Mickey Corrigan.
Mickey was only with us for a year or two before returning to England, but may have relatives living locally.
My email address is maguirep2@ gmail.com, and my phone number is 0286 632 4760.
Thank you for your help.
Yours faithfully,
Paddy Maguire.
Dear Sir,
Gerry Kelly’s glorification of the Maze escape goes to the heart of Sinn Fein’s warped world view. He revels in an event that saw one prison officer stabbed and another shot in the head.
Sinn Fein have a complete disregard for the victims of IRA terrorism, instead focusing only on terrorists who were on “active service”.
Their strategy is simply to continue repeating such offensive and hate-filled propaganda in the hope that criticism will become more muted each time.
We have witnessed that only a few weeks ago with Michelle O’neill’s claim that there was no alternative to IRA terrorism.
There is an absolute responsibility on everyone in our society to ensure such attempts are not successful.
Sinn Fein have no interest in building a shared future in Northern Ireland. Instead, this is the reality of their vision for a ‘new Ireland’.
We will continue to highlight and challenge every attempt to normalise such a warped vision. Yours faithfully,
Deborah Erskine
