Family of late Evie Bowles make donation to care home

-

ON Saturday, September 17, the family of late Evie Bowles presented garden furniture in her memory to Ena Trimble of Gortacharn Care Home, Lisnaskea from donations received in lieu of flowers.

Evie was a resident of Gortacharn for three years up to her death on September 19, 2021 aged nearly 101.

Annie Evelyn Elizabeth Bowles, better known as ‘Evie’, and also to many simply as ‘Granny’, was a beloved local figure who received more than 1,400 cards to mark her 100th birthday during the height of the coronavirus pandemic.

In a tribute to Evie published in The Impartial Reporter following her passing last year, the family shared their thanks to all of the staff of Gortacharn Care Home who cared for her.

Evie’s son Derek said at the time: “We cannot express our gratitude highly enough for the care and love she received from Ena Trimble and all the amazing staff.

“Mum was very happy and content, with a constant stream of visitors.

“We will all be forever grateful for the happy years that everyone at Gortacharn gave her.”
