Stunning Benson lifts Open title
THE weather delayed Lakeland Open competition was finally completed at the weekend with the Gents playing at Castle Hume and the Ladies at Enniskillen.
With the previous Day one scores being carried over, it was all to play for from the highly talented stars from both clubs.
Robert Benson was sitting in a challenging spot going into the final 18 holes, and a recent resurgence of his golfing talents was on show as he delivered another stunning performance at Castle Hume to claim the overall Prize. Despite the chasing pack returning some wonderful scores, the Castle Hume star held on to pick up his first major success this year.
