THERE was a great buzz at Willowbridge last week as the school hosted its annual prizegiving event, where students were celebrated for their achievements.

On Wednesday, October 19, students were accompanied by their families for the celebratory event, which this year was on the theme of ‘Reach for the Stars’.

The prizegiving was also attended by members of the school’s Board of Governors.

The acting vice-principal of Willowbridge, Joanne Gray, said: “We celebrate not only the students receiving academic certificates but those students in each form class that have, for a variety of reasons, deserved recognition for successes within their form class.”

A former student of Willowbridge, Daniel Martin, was welcomed back to the school as guest speaker for the event, and assisted the presentation of the awards.

Academic certificates were awarded to studenys for achievements in OCN Entry Level CCEA occupational studies accredited subjects.

There were also form teacher awards, a male and female sports personality award, and an art award.
