Mrs. Margaret (Peggy) Little

-

THERE has been widespread sadness expressed following the death of Mrs. Margaret (Peggy) Little (née Dick) formerly of Killymendon, Ballinamallard, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 6 at the South West Acute Hospital, Enniskillen.

Margaret was born on August 25, 1941 at Belview Ring outside Enniskillen. She was the daughter of Thomas and Mary Dick and sister of Billy, George, Tommy, Charlie, Norman, Mary and Flo (all predeceased by Margaret).

The family moved to Relagh Guinness, Ballinamallard in the early 1950s. Margaret had many happy memories of her childhood at Relagh Guinness where her chores included bringing water from the well 1/2 mile down the road with Neddy the donkey.

After leaving school Margaret went to work in Taylor Woods, a clothing factory in Enniskillen where she remained there until the factory closed in the late 1960s.

Margaret had by then met her future husband John Little and they were married in October 1967.

They subsequently set up home together on the family farm at Killymendon where they farmed for many years and shared 39 happy years of married life together and where they were blessed with three children David, Ivan and Lois.

Family life was very important to Margaret who was never far away from the family home.

She devoted her life to caring for her husband and children and continued to provide support and guidance to them throughout their adult life.

She was immensely proud of her seven grandchildren Tom, Jack, Stewart, Amy, Sam, Max and Charlie and always looked forward to their visits.

In addition to being a dedicated wife and mother she was an excellent homemaker and the family have many happy memories of Margaret baking, cooking, knitting, sewing and even wallpapering the house. Margaret was a kind, loving, generous, loyal person helping to look after her grandchildren when the need arose.

When John’s health began to fail, Margaret unhesitatingly took on the role of caring lovingly and diligently for her husband of nearly 40 years, right up until he passed away on July 31, 2007.

A celebration of Margaret’s life took place on Saturday, October 8 at Irvinestown Independent Methodist which was aptly decorated for the Harvest Thanksgiving which Margaret loved.

Margaret will be sadly missed by her son David, wife Avril, grandchildren Stewart and Amy, son Ivan, daughter Lois, husband George and grandsons Tom, Jack, Sam, Max and Charlie and the wider family circle and friends.
