ENNISKILLEN U-18 girls headed off to Clogher Valley on Friday night to play a Clogher Valley/cavan/ Monaghan team, and everyone anticipated a strong contest.

Clogher Valley kicked off and almost immediately the Enniskillen girls got into their groove.

There was five minutes on the clock when super forward play resulted in the opening try of the game for Lauren Kelly. The conversion just missed from Victoria Benson.

The kick-off was received and multiple carriers moved the Skins girls back up to the Valley line. It took slick forwards work again to see Chloe Moore crash over. The convserion was again missed, but it left Skins with a 10-0 lead.

If the forwards made ground and controlled the ball superbly for the first two tries, then it was simply a lovely move by the backs that saw multiple slick passes used to put Anna Wilson away to score in the corner to increase the lead to 15-0.

After a number of phases by the powerful Keri Elliott, Jessica and Eve, scrum half Aimee Ross swiftly released Skins’ now dominant backs who put slick passes together again to get Olivia Beavis in for a score.

The conversion was narrowly missed, but Skins held a 20-0 advantage.

This game was now firmly in the Skins girls’ grasp and the forwards showed real structure and togetherness and this resulted in tries for the potent Chloe Moore and Amanda Farrell.

Both were converted for a half-time score of 34-0.

Having fought so hard in the first half to gain dominance, with super structured play in both forwards and backs, the Skins girls really stepped it up to another level in the second half.

Further magnificent tries by Keeva Corry, Anna Wilson and Abi Brock brought a superb finish to what was an almost faultless performance by the Skins U-18 Girls. All three tries were converted by Victoria Benson to bring the full-time score 55-0.

Some of the link play and phases rolled out by Aimee, Scarlett Keys and Katherine Armstrong were driven forward by superb determined runs by Olivia Black and Victoria Murray and these all resulted in an all-round super display.

This performance places a benchmark for this squad and the challenge to continue their improvement will be under way now with great confidence.
