LISNASKEA Rovers collected all three points in a ten-goal thriller at Castle Park in their Division Three match against Dunbreen Rovers on Saturday.

’Skea recorded five different scorers as Niall Keenan (2), Sean Keenan, Hayden Lynch, Cillian Jones and Eimhin Curran were all on target to follow on from their 6-1 win away to Newtownstewart the previous weekend.

The sides went into half time level at 2-2 before the home side pulled away to move within three points of first-placed Omagh Albion with a game in hand.

Rovers made an excellent start as they went close to finding an opener on a couple of occasions before Niall Keenan gave them a 1-0 lead.

Keenan volleyed the ball home from a Brian Mcdermott cross to reward their good start.

However, Dunbreen hit back to go 2-1 up after a couple of simple mistakes at the back gave the Omagh side a way back into the game.

Lisnaskea fought back and made it 2-2 through Eimhin Curran, his strike from outside the box levelling things before the interval.

The home team were awarded a penalty shortly into the second half for a mistimed tackle in the box and midfielder Sean Keenan stepped up to the spot to find the corner and restore his side’s lead at 3-2.

The goals kept coming as Hayden Lynch bagged a fourth in fantastic fashion with a well-timed strike inside the box to make it a two-goal cushion and create some breathing room.

Dunbreen tried to mount a comeback with a couple of efforts, but nothing serious enough to worry the Lisnaskea defence.

Niall Keenan grabbed his second of the game before Dunbreen found a third goal make it 5-3.

However, Cillian Jones all but sealed the points when his shot flew past the Dunbreen goalkeeper to wrap up another home win at Castle Park.

Dunbreen scored a last-minute consolation goal to conclude this high-scoring affair.

Lisnaskea Rovers Manager Shane O’donnell was delighted to see his side pick up another valuable three points in the hunt for promotion to Division Two.

“It was a brilliant performance that means we continue to climb up the Division Three table”, he said.

“We have Enniskillen Rovers next time out and I’ll be looking for another three points to keep pushing on, but we’re happy with the win. The lads worked hard, and it was a great result.”

With Lisnaskea away to Enniskillen Rovers, Dunbreen will be hoping to improve their luck at home to Newtownstewart United this weekend.
