Laytha releasing their self-titled debut album

-

IRISH Indie-folk duo Laytha are set to release their self-titled debut album tomorrow (Friday, November 11) accompanied by the beautiful single, ‘Still’.

The Enniskillen-based duo – featuring Niamh Carney (vocals) and Philana Nolan (guitar and vocals) – write songs about daughterhood, their home and the raw, rugged landscape of Ireland.

They are fresh off the heels of an exciting year which has seen them release a trio of wellreceived singles, picking up support on the RTE Radio 1 Recommends playlist, numerous BBC Introducing spins, and a session on BBC Ulster, along with a Track of the Day feature from Hot Press Magazine. The duo also performed live alongside the likes of Joshua Burnside, Saint Sister and Niamh Regan.

The album was recorded with producer Declan

Legge (SOAK, Jealous Of The Birds) and finds the duo showcasing their incredible melodies and harmonies – their greatest and most unique asset.

The album covers the economies of relationships, shared and broken, familial bonds, daughters, womenhood and new beginnings, and is set to raise their profile to deservedly sit alongside genre peers such as Saint Sister, The Henry Girls, The Staves, etc.

On November 27, Laytha will host their album release show at the Black Box in Belfast.
