‘We played really well’ says a happy Hanna

Tummery Athletic 3 Mountjoy United 0

-

Tummery Athletic remain hot on the heels of leaders Enniskillen Town following Saturday’s 3-0 win over Mountjoy United at Crawfords Lane.

Aidy Mccaffrey had fired the Dromore outfit ahead at half time before Paudi Dillon doubled the advantage after the break and Declan Mcnulty rounded things off from the spot to seal a comfortable day for the home side.

Player-manager Ryan Hanna was delighted with his side’s performance throughout the game.

“We played really well, I felt we controlled the game from start to finish and we created loads of chances.

“If I was to nit-pick I would like to have scored a few more goals and we know we will need to be more clinical, especially in tight games,” he said.

However, it was another three points in the bag as they now turn their attentions to a meeting with bottom of the table Killen Ranger this Saturday.

And Hanna expects a tough test despite Killen’s lowly position in the table.

“The focus is now on Killen and they are never an easy opponent for us.

We know that we are going to have to be really tuned in for it,” he added.

Tummery dictated matters from the first whistle on Saturday and Brian Campbell had their first chance with a looping header that just dropped over th bar.

And on 19 minutes they took te lead as Kevin Mcaleer’s cross picked out Martin Hughes who teed up Mccaffrey and he made no mistake with a first time strike to the bottom corner.

Further chances arrived for the home side but neither Hughes or Hanna could finish as the minimum remained between the sides at the break.

The second goal though came ten minutes into the second half as Hanna’s pinpoint ball across the 18 yard box found Dillon who finished smartly for 2-0.

And five minutes later Tummery had their third of the day.

Hughes dinked the ball over Mountjoy goalkeeper David Gilfillan but his effort was clawed off the line by the hand of the covering Gallagher who was red carded.

From the resultant penalty Mcnulty disptached to the net for 3-0.

Tummery dictated the remainder of the contest without adding further to their tally as the game finished 3-0 to the home side.
