Rovers hit six to move top of the table

Lisnaskea Rovers 6 Fivemiletown II 1

-

LISNASKEA Rovers moved to the top of the Division Three table following Saturday’s thumping 6-1 win over Fivemiletown II at the Castle Park Centre.

Brian Mcdermott grabbed a hat-trick for Rovers while Steve Jeffers, Nial Mcmahon and Nial Keenan also chipped in with goals to move Rovers into a two point lead at the top of the table.

After a cagey opening quarter of an hour, Rovers took the lead as Mcdermott netted his first of the game as he punished a wayward pass.

And it was not long before number two arrived as Niall Mcmahon tucked home.

It was all Lisnaskea at this stage and Mcdermott made it 3-0 as he grabbed his second, slotting home after Sean Keenan’s effort had come back off the post.

And they were to increase their lead further before half time as Jeffers got on the scoresheet to leave it 4-0 at half time.

Rovers continued to dictate the play after the interval and Niall Keenan made it 5-0 before Mcdermott hen completed his hat-trick just after the hour mark.

Fivemiletown did pull a late goal back through Jamie Lee Hamilton but this was only a consolation strike as Rovers eased to the points.
