Dergview Reserves 7 Enniskillen Athletic 0

DERGVIEW Reserves swept Enniskillen Athletic aside with a 7-0 hammering at Darragh Park at the weekend as Alaaeddine Dhouioui grabbed a brace alongside goals from Ashley Lowry, Stuart Mortland, Cameron Coyle and Ivan Sproule. Saturday’s hosts moved five points clear of Beragh Swifts in eighth spot having played a game less.

Meanwhile, Athletic are still firmly in a relegation battle along with Magheraveely,

Castlederg United and Irvinestown Wanderers. Darren Rodgers’s side host Beragh this weekend after the sides drew 2-2 at Fountain Lane in January, while Dergview face Enniskillen Town away from home.

It was one-way traffic for Dergview last weekend against an Athletic side who were missing a number of players, and it didn’t take long for the first goal to arrive with Dhouioui netting after just six minutes. Despite the early setback, Athletic were able to play themselves back into the game but were unable to carve out any clear-cut chances.

Dhouioui slotted home a second from a low cross on 28 minutes and the hosts added a third just before the half-time whistle. Two goals in the opening four minutes of the second half put the game beyond doubt with Mortland and Lowry adding their names to the scoresheet.

It could have been more on the day for Dergview but they were denied on a handful of occasions by some good goalkeeping from Athletic’s James Maguire.

Coyle added his side’s sixth goal just after the hour mark as good play down the right wing ended with the ball being drilled low across the goal for Coyle to tap in at the back post.

Sproule came off the bench to race in behind the Athletic back four and coolly despatch for a seventh to round off the scoring with less than 10 minutes to go.
